March from crocus blooming to snow

March 12- I was so happy to see the crocus blooming. These little purple ones were so cute! I had the yellow ones the longest and then this year my purple ones bloomed.
They are such a welcome site and makes me think spring is really on its way.
Well what a surprise on Saturday March 26 it was snowing . I took these pictures out my kitchen window Sunday early before we left for church.
It was really pretty. I thought it looked really neat with my pot of artificial daffodils in the window over my sink and the snow on the outside.

Oh, What a Fun Day!!

Finally we had a really warm day just right for a day walking in the woods with my three youngest grandchildren. They have been asking me to meet them and take a walk so this was the day.

They were amazed at the beautiful blooms on this cherry tree and were picking a few blooms.

They love talking to Quacker and were throwing him some wild onions, guess he liked them since he came and ate a few. They really wanted to pet him but he would not come close enough for that.

Oh what fun it is to climb on the trees!

This huge grapevine made a good place for them to pose together.

This was a really big strong vine that went way up in the trees. They love playing in the woods. It is amazing how God makes all these wonderful places for them to explore. What a cutie!!

Grandma's sweet and precious little ones are growing up so fast!!

Another pretty face with some of the beautiful flowers in her pocket.

Papaw added another swing to their park this week. They love it!

Papaw came by on his 4 Wheeler and they all climbed on and he was pretending he was taking them for a ride making sounds like it was going and they said no lets go for a real ride. So guess what he did and they loved it. All three and Papaw. Such smiles and laughter was so sweet!

There are some neat hills behind the house and they had a joyous time.

Valentine's Day with my Hubby!

This morning we decided to go on a little road trip to celebrate Valentine's Day and ended up at French Lick for lunch. They have a new Black Buggy Restaurant in French Lick and it was really good. A couple of our friends were there too, so got to visit with them a little too..
After lunch we stopped by Patoka Lake at one of the launching ramps just to enjoy the view. Even though it was chilly there was a man fishing.

This was the mans vehicle parked there and you could see him on one of the docks. He had a beard and I saw this on the window and I said he looks like Santa Claus. Anyway we decide to be friendly and see if he was catching any fish so we proceeded to walk down there.

Don't you think he reminds you of Santa Claus. Well we started talking to him and he actually had some nice fish. I asked him if he lived in this area and he told me where he lived and he said I work at Santa Claus Land. I am Santa. I thought it was so neat to see Santa at the lake. He said this is one of his favorite things to do. Well guess what I just happened to be holding my camera and ask him if I could take his picture and he said yes. I ask if I could put it on facebook and he said you can put it anywhere you want so here he is and of course I had to have one of me and Santa too. I would have never guessed I would see Santa on Valentine's Day especially at the lake fishing.

Snowy day yesterday, Sunny day today!

This picture was actually taken yesterday. It just kept snowing off and on all morning so I just peeped out the front door and took a few pictures. It has snowed so much this winter. School has been cancelled and some days have been 2 hour delays. Some of the roads we had to travel on to get to church this morning were solid ice and very slick. It is so amazing today the temperature is in the 40's now and I sure hope it thaws out the roads that were so slick this morning. I am so happy to see the sun shining a little.
After church I made homemade vegetable beef soup. It was really yummy. It may look like pickles in my bowl but it is actually zucchini from our garden that I had frozen. It also has green beans, corn, peas, carrots, tomatoes and potatoes.

I really like the verse that was on the front of our church bulletin this morning. this is my prayer.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you,O LORD.
Psalm 19:14

Finally I am back!

This is a little late getting posted but what can I say except time has gone way to fast for me lately. I can hardly believe it is 2011 and now into February. Way back in September my computer went bad and I had to get a new one and would you believe it had to be sent back to the factory to be fixed too. Then to top it off everything was so different than my old one so I have had to learn how to do everything in a different way. Guess when you get older it just takes more time to learn new things. Anyway here I am with the picture of my wonderful Grandchildren from Christmas Eve. They are so precious to me and I love spending time with them. We had a wonderful Christmas being together. Grandchildren are the crown of the aged

Happy Father's Day ~~~A Great Day for a Great Dad!

Proud Dad with his two beautiful daughters. It is so good the girls live close and make sure to see their Daddy on his special day. He loved it!

Here he is proud again to have a picture with his beautiful Granddaughters, even his grand puppy, Trixie came and right away jumped on his lap and started giving him kisses. Wish I had took a picture of that.

Tabi is our youngest grandchild and loves her Papaw and he loves her so much! It is a special treat to have them all drop in to see us, but today was a real special day.

The cards they brought were so neat. This one said...you have always been my guiding light, showing me the way. I would be lost without you! Happy Father's Day! Then the bible verse
"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you." Philippians 1:3 KJV

This one said, "For a Wonderful Father" and had several neat things written like, A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms. Noble Fathers have noble children and some other neat sayings plus the bible verse.
Happy is the Man that findeth wisdom. and the man that getteth understanding
Proverbs 3:13 KJV

The little girls brought this one that said"Happy Father's Day, Grandpa and inside said The special days we spend together, will be in my heart forever!

Then TaraKate made him a really neat card too which said, " Your the best!
Needless to say he had a really special day and also got a phone call from our son wishing him a "Happy Father's Day'

We are thankful for a wonderful caring family!! God is good!

Mother's Day 2010

The girls brought me this beautiful tropical plant for Mother's Day. I think it is really pretty and I will really enjoy it all summer.

They also took some really good photos of their family and of our five granddaughters together so now I have new pictures to hang and they also made a little album to carry in my purse with some of the pictures.

From top to bottom, the oldest to the youngest. I love them all so much. They have so much fun together and I love to have them come and visit together. Can't wait till school is out for a sleep over at Grandma's house.
Thanks girls for taking time to take these family pictures. They are great!

Thank you Lord for the greatest kids in the world!!

Wonderful Signs of Spring !

This week we have been seeing some really pretty signs of spring. They may be little signs but I am really ready for spring and hopefully no snow anymore this year.
I love it when the crocus start popping up.

Th daffodils sure look pretty too and make me think Easter is going to be here soon.

Yesterday the little girls wanted to meet in the path in the woods close to our houses. It is so neat that we live close and it was sure fun. Yesterday was the first day of spring and a really nice day for a walk in the woods. The leaves makes it look like fall but there was some green showing in places and some really tiny little flowers the girls kept stopping and picking and I forgot to take a picture of them. If you look close in the above picture you can see their little doggy with them. He loved it outside too.
The girls had told me they found some logs they could climb on so as you can see it was a wonderful place for little girls to climb on kinda like a jungle gym as they called it.
The fallen trees did make a good place to have some climbing fun!

This is beside the girls house but you can see our red barn in the background.

We walked to the mailbox and they decided it would be fun to do a little jogging down the hill.
They had fun throwing rocks in the pond. They loved hearing them plunk in the water.

Papaw took advantage of the nice day and planted potatoes. He was looking forward to planting garden this year.
