Happy Father's Day ~~~A Great Day for a Great Dad!

Proud Dad with his two beautiful daughters. It is so good the girls live close and make sure to see their Daddy on his special day. He loved it!

Here he is proud again to have a picture with his beautiful Granddaughters, even his grand puppy, Trixie came and right away jumped on his lap and started giving him kisses. Wish I had took a picture of that.

Tabi is our youngest grandchild and loves her Papaw and he loves her so much! It is a special treat to have them all drop in to see us, but today was a real special day.

The cards they brought were so neat. This one said...you have always been my guiding light, showing me the way. I would be lost without you! Happy Father's Day! Then the bible verse
"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you." Philippians 1:3 KJV

This one said, "For a Wonderful Father" and had several neat things written like, A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms. Noble Fathers have noble children and some other neat sayings plus the bible verse.
Happy is the Man that findeth wisdom. and the man that getteth understanding
Proverbs 3:13 KJV

The little girls brought this one that said"Happy Father's Day, Grandpa and inside said The special days we spend together, will be in my heart forever!

Then TaraKate made him a really neat card too which said, " Your the best!
Needless to say he had a really special day and also got a phone call from our son wishing him a "Happy Father's Day'

We are thankful for a wonderful caring family!! God is good!

Mother's Day 2010

The girls brought me this beautiful tropical plant for Mother's Day. I think it is really pretty and I will really enjoy it all summer.

They also took some really good photos of their family and of our five granddaughters together so now I have new pictures to hang and they also made a little album to carry in my purse with some of the pictures.

From top to bottom, the oldest to the youngest. I love them all so much. They have so much fun together and I love to have them come and visit together. Can't wait till school is out for a sleep over at Grandma's house.
Thanks girls for taking time to take these family pictures. They are great!

Thank you Lord for the greatest kids in the world!!

Wonderful Signs of Spring !

This week we have been seeing some really pretty signs of spring. They may be little signs but I am really ready for spring and hopefully no snow anymore this year.
I love it when the crocus start popping up.

Th daffodils sure look pretty too and make me think Easter is going to be here soon.

Yesterday the little girls wanted to meet in the path in the woods close to our houses. It is so neat that we live close and it was sure fun. Yesterday was the first day of spring and a really nice day for a walk in the woods. The leaves makes it look like fall but there was some green showing in places and some really tiny little flowers the girls kept stopping and picking and I forgot to take a picture of them. If you look close in the above picture you can see their little doggy with them. He loved it outside too.
The girls had told me they found some logs they could climb on so as you can see it was a wonderful place for little girls to climb on kinda like a jungle gym as they called it.
The fallen trees did make a good place to have some climbing fun!

This is beside the girls house but you can see our red barn in the background.

We walked to the mailbox and they decided it would be fun to do a little jogging down the hill.
They had fun throwing rocks in the pond. They loved hearing them plunk in the water.

Papaw took advantage of the nice day and planted potatoes. He was looking forward to planting garden this year.

Wonderful Valentine's Day

What a wonderful time we had getting together with all 5 of the granddaughters to make valentine cookies. Bethany surprised us all with new shirts from Old Navy in pretty colors, some even had hearts on them.
The girls enjoyed corn on the cob from our garden. I just happened to still have some frozen.

The girls really like decorating cookies together as you can see the smiles on their pretty faces.

Marisa made us all really cute beaded necklaces. This is mine and I think it is so pretty and she even put little hearts on all of them. I will enjoy wearing it. She did a great job on making them.

Well ,we had more snow and this time even more of it. I took a few pictures from our front window. I think we had about six inches this time. One of the neighbor girls slid off the road and ended up in our yard.

Mac went out later and used the four-wheeler and cleared some of the snow away so they could get the car back on the road.

More beautiful snow photos

Thought these photos were really pretty of the road coming toward our house, you can actually see our red barn just beyond the pond.
This is a view of the road a little further up from the pond.

God's Handiwork !

This morning as was the forecast we woke up to about 3 inches of very pretty snow. It is really a pretty site to see on all the trees and the ground covered just enough to look beautiful.
My snowman flag is really appropriate for the day.

This is the woods behind our house.

Psalm 147: 16
He gives (to the earth) snow like ( a blanket of) wool.

Mac was out clearing our drive so it would melt and make driving easier. It is up to 35 degrees now and the sun is peeping thru so maybe some will melt from the roads and it won't be too slick on the main roads for everyone going out to church in the morning.

This is the woods beside our house and I thought the flag looked really pretty blowing in the wind.

Christmas Cooking Baking 2009 with the Grandchildren

First, I want to wish everyone a "Very Merry Christmas" This is our Christmas card for this year with all our grandchildren. Dallas and Kelli couldn't be here to have fun making cookies since their college is not out for the holidays yet but they will be joining us for Christmas Eve. We are all looking forward to being together again.

The girls had fun cutting out different shapes of the cookies. Then Bethany made different colors of frosting so they had fun with sprinkles and decorating them as they desired.

TaraKate made this cute candy cane.

Marisa made a cute snowman.

Some of the pretty cookies!

Tia with her Christmas tree cookie.

I think Bethany made this cute little heart.

Trixie came too and she tried her best to find any crumbs she could eat. Once I did see a little blob of icing on the floor and when I went to get it, well needless to say it was gone.

Two cute snowmen.

Well here I am with all my sweet girls. I know why they call them grandchildren because mine are all grand. I really think I have the grandest ones of all. God is good!

This is a cute picture of TaraKate with Trixie at the top of the stairs. Trixie knows we are all downstairs in the family room but she doesn't want to go down the stairs.

The girls always do some kind of craft. These reindeer were a little different than the paper bag ones they have made before. They had a cloth body.

Isn't Tabi cute with her reindeer?

Papaw with his favorite girls.
