First it was Christmas and it snowed and was cold and the ground was frozen and then spring was really rainy so it got delayed for awhile, but finally it got underway and now it is reality and we have the pictures to prove it is ready to use and they love it.

Construction of the new park (as the girls call it)
Here we are in the newly constructed playhouse. Don't they look happy? It was a great day when they returned from vacation in Texas to see their new park all ready for them.
Our little grandaughters have been looking forward to having a new swing set and they had a really neat book that showed some really neat play sets. They were always asking Papaw if he would build them one. They would ask him"Papaw will you build us a park" so for Christmas Mommy got them a box that had the hardware in it for a really nice play set. Mind you it only had the hardware in it and you had to buy the lumber and even cut the boards to size. The instructions told all the sizes and length of each board and all you had to do then was put it together. Sounds pretty easy.

Papaw Mac putting one of the frames together in the garage. Below we called Uncle Bruce to help him carry the heavy frame to the back of the house. The wood is very heavy.
Papaw Toby came and helped too. It was a big project.

It is getting to look like it can have some swings and the clubhouse. Even Papaw can stand in it.

The girls are so happy to be able to pose with Papaw. Isn't it so neat.?
They love the swings and they can go really high!
It is so neat and then they have their sandbox underneath with little seats on the sides and a climbing rope. It will also have a big slide beside the ladder and a glider beside the three swings..
